Pabua's Cottages is a homey family-owned lodging compound located in Barangay Yumbing in the municipality of Mambajao. It is a good option for tourists looking for clean and pleasant accommodations at a reasonable price in the island province of Camiguin. Facility rates are negotiable with advance booking, according to the owner Mr. Puloy Pabua.
The lodging facility is composed of multiple bungalow type cottages for rent, called "rooms," with various occupancies. Room 1 features three double beds and can accommodate up to six to ten persons. Room 2, with two queen sized beds and one single bed, can hold up to six occupants. Room 3 can house two occupants with its queen-sized bed.
Room 4 can hold up to four persons in two double beds. Rooms 5 and 6 can both hold six to eight persons with three double beds per room. Room 7, a cottage with two rooms, can hold between eight to twelve persons with two double beds per room. Room 8 can hold between eight to ten persons with its three double beds, and Room 9 with two double beds can accommodate up to four persons.
Room rental fees are inclusive of towels and beddings. All rooms are equipped with cable television, are air conditioned and provided with individual toilet and bath facilities. Each cottage is provided with its own outdoor porch and dining area for guest use. Wireless internet can be also be accessed throughout the property. With the exception of Room 7 (which has its own kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, cooking equipment and utensils), occupants of all cottages have the option to cook meals at a common kitchen, or have the staff cook meals for them for a minimal fee. An in-house pump boat is also available for rent to get to the popular tourist spot White Island and back.
Pabua's Cottages is located along Barangay Yumbing's main road and is adjacent to several homestays and lodging facilities. Located just across Paras Beach Resort, it is within walking distance to the drop off point to get to White Island and the area's popular Italian bistro Luna Ristorante.
How to Get There:
From Camiguin Island's main Benoni Port, visitors can hire a multi-cab and arrange for a 20-minute "special trip" for direct transportation to Pabua's Cottages. Otherwise, guests have the option to take a public van to the municipal capital Mambajao town and from there take a motorela (a tricyle-jeep hybrid public transport vehicle) to Barangay Yumbing, for a total trip duration of about 45 minutes.
Alternatively, guests can make advance arrangements for a multi-cab day tour service that would include pick up at the port upon arrival, an island day tour and drop off at the lodging establishment.
