The government may be slowly lifting quarantines all over, but that doesn't mean we can already go out of our homes whenever we want to. With the virus still capable of spreading, it would be best for us to continue staying at home. While you're at it, you may want to try these self-care tips so you can still make the most of the time you'll spend while inside your house.
Take a Nap
Taking a nap helps your mind get rid of stress. If you're working from home, take a nap for at least 10 to 20 minutes after lunch and before you get back to your tasks. This will sustain your energy and will keep you focused on your work.
Minimize Social Media Usage
Ever since social media became a part of our daily lives, it has allowed us to connect with others and gather information in an instant. However, it can also drain us mentally and emotionally, especially when the information we receive is very upsetting. Avoid those mood swings by giving yourself a social media break from time to time. Staying in a good state of mind has tons of benefits, from healthy blood pressure levels to less tension on your muscles.
Learn Yoga and Meditation
Yoga and meditation classes are fun, but the good news is there are plenty of free online courses for these activities. There are numerous clips on YouTube where professionals share tons of yoga and meditation tips and techniques. The great thing about these activities is you can easily do them in the comfort of your own home and the benefits are incredible.
Take a Long Bath
Studies have shown that bathing improves blood circulation as well as one's mood. Even if you do not have a bathtub or a strong shower, all you really need is to soak in warm or cold water (whichever you prefer) in order to get its positive effects. Of course, give your body a good ol' scrub so you can feel great and be clean at the same time.
