Now that it’s summer, Palawan is a hot destination getaway. Aside from the sun and sand you can enjoy at this lovely province, you must not forget the seafood. If you’re going to be spending a whole lot of time on the island, it is best to know which restaurants to try. Read on to find 5 must-try restaurants.

1. Kalui
Location: 369 Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
Price Range: At least PHP 400/person
If you love seafood and vegetables, you should definitely drop by Kalui as these ingredients are the main stars of their menu. The restaurant is a legend on the island, and locals will easily recommend it. It is decorated with native motifs, and the rustic style is emphasized as they ask you to remove your shoes upon entering the establishment. The latter is not a problem, though, because they have polished hardwood floors. For a complete experience, just order the Kalui Special of the Day, which comes with several seafood dishes like fish and crabs, an assortment of vegetables, and a complimentary dessert, all of which is good for 2.

2. La Terrasse

Everything is made from scratch daily to ensure great flavors. They also use organic chickens as well as freshly caught seafood. 3. Sinugba sa Balay
Location: San Agustin Street, Coron, Palawan

Sinugba sa Balay is a chill and relaxing restaurant in Coron. They offer you fresh and delicious food at reasonable costs, most of which are grilled. They have live music and entertainment, so it’s best to visit with friends to enjoy their laid-back ambiance. The service is warm and friendly, so you'll feel right at home at the restaurant. Try their grilled chicken, Catch of the Day, and fresh lumpia, which are all to die for.

4. Winnie’s Restaurant
Location: National Highway Barangay 4, Palawan

If you love crabs and are looking for some great crab dishes in Coron, head to Winnie’s Restaurant. They offer an assortment of cuisines from Filipino to German. They don’t skimp on the servings and give you enough to make your money’s worth and more. Their crab meat curry and crab fried rice are must-tries for any crab lover and general seafood enthusiast.

5. El Nido Boutique & Artcafé
Location: Sirena St., Buena Suerte, El Nido, Palawan
Price Range: At least PHP 400/person
Enjoy a unique experience at El Nido Boutique & Artcafé. The bottom half of the building is a souvenir shop where you can purchase all kinds of things. After doing a bit of shopping, you can head up to the Artcafé, barefoot and all, and taste some of the best food you can get in El Nido. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner, they have it all. Try their Wahoo fish steak, El Nido salad, and vegetarian pizza.
