Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the word staycation. A staycation is basically checking into a hotel in the city or town where you live and just relaxing and not caring for anything. It’s also a kind of vacation where you get to enjoy a nice fancy place with all the services not too faraway from home. If you’re not sold on this idea, here are 5 reasons that might change your mind.
1. It won’t take a long trip to get there.
With most planned vacations, there is usually some travel time involved, which can range from 1 hour to 20 hours depending on your destination. But let’s face it, travelling can get stressful, especially now that there’s still no improvement in the traffic situation in the country. With a staycation, there isn’t any large chunk of travel time at all. You can get to your hotel or resort in no time and you won’t feel tired or stressed, which makes the staycation all the more enjoyable.
2. The thought of being somewhere else is comforting.
Though you may have not left your area completely, staying somewhere else but still in the vicinity is quite a unique experience. There is this thrilling and weird sense of joy and appreciation that you get out of it. You get a new perspective of your hometown and there’s something about being checked-in that makes you think you are in a new location, though you’ve been around that area hundreds of times. It’s also a comforting thought that home is just minutes away in case of anything.
3. Hotels have some pretty fine facilities you can make use of.
Be it an infinity pool or a new kind of spa treatment, hotels are constantly improving their facilities and services to drive customers to stay. Do some research and you will find hotels with dozens of facilities you can make use of and still feel like you went on an out of town trip. Taking a swim, going to the gym, watching a movie, having a massage, and more are all possible in a single place. And again, you don’t have to go far to do all of them.
4. Sometimes you want to escape—but not too far away.
Life can be hard and stressful, and we all had that urge to just get away without anyone knowing. A perk of a staycation is that you can go on an instant vacation whenever you want, and away from everyone. Staycation is the perfect way to avoid the toxic people you don’t want to deal with, or the family drama that has been driving you nuts.
5. Go on a staycation because YOU DESERVE IT.
We often forget to pamper ourselves every once in a while so allow us to remind you that a hard worker like you deserves to feel how it is to be treated like a queen. And though you may not have a lot of vacation days, your lazy weekends are more than enough to spend in a nice hotel with a huge bed, a luxurious shower and bath, and room service. So slow things down, pack that small suitcase, and check out those nice hotels around your place. Everyone in this world could use a staycation.
