1. Marcia Adams' Tuscany

2. Chateau Hestia
If getting away from the holiday stress of the city is on the agenda, seek out Chateau Hestia, a hidden garden with its idyllic pocket of greens and an equally homey bed and breakfast. Co-owned by Austrian Johannes Zehethofer, Chateau Hestia also has a charming restaurant that serves European food and their own version of limoncello mixed with the local dayap.

How to get there: Take the Santa Rosa-Silang-Tagaytay Road from the Sta. Rosa exit on South Superhighway. Turn right on the Tagaytay Ridge Road, go straight and make a right turn when you see Dominican House of Prayer on your right and go straight. Turn right on the third corner and Chateau Hestia is at the end of the road, past Bawai's Vietnamese Restaurant.
Budget: Eating at Chateau Hestia's restaurant will set you back at least P500 per person.
3. Cafe Verbena at the Discovery Country Suites
One does not need to stay at one of the suites to enjoy a holiday at Café Verbena. The cafe has a country house atmosphere with high ceilings, replete with a fireplace for breezy nights. Café Verbena also has an open-air veranda that looks out on Tagaytay's rolling hills, and the absence of the popular lake view does nothing to dispel the bucolic ambience of the place.
