7 Nightspots Around the Philippines
Find places to eat, drink, and be merry after the sun goes down.
Most areas in the Philippines are quite laid back, and in many towns, few establishments stay open past 9pm. However, there are a few destinations where there are areas that remain awake until the wee hours. Not all are big party places or packed with clubs and bars--most are places to eat, drink, and have a good time with friends even after the sun has long gone down. Nightowls can find places to go after dark in these destinations:
The island of Boracay is possibly one of the biggest party destinations in the country. Most of the clubs, bars, and restaurants that are open until late can be found along White Beach's Station 2, where the establishments extend their seating areas right up to the beachfront.
As it is one of the Philippines' major cities, Cebu has a number of areas that are perfect for people who like to party, as well as those who are simply looking for a place to hang out in the evenings. The area across Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Lahug, known as the IT Park, has a number of dining establishments, as well as clubs, bars, and cafés that people head to at all hours.
Though Bohol is a relatively quiet destination, Alona Beach, which is lined with resorts, is one of the places to go for dinner and drinks. There are several establishments on Panglao Island near the beach that remain open at night, which are perfect for a nightcap.
Good eats can be found along F. Torres St. in Davao City, where there is a row of restaurants that stay open for dinner until midnight. Another place nightowls in Davao frequent is Jack's Ridge in Matina, where the dining establishments, which include a bar, a KTV, and a café, all have a great view of the city.
Makati City is one of the most urban areas in the metro, and there are a number of areas with bars and restaurants. Aside from the establishments in the Ayala Compound and in Rockwell, Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas are some of the parts of Makati where one can spend a good night out.
Cagayan de Oro City
Manila is not the only place with a Divisoria--CDO's Divisoria district is very different from the one in Manila. Manila's Divisoria is packed with stalls and vendors and shoppers all seven days of the week. The Divisoria Night Café and Market in CDO is set up only during the weekends, as the streets that accommodate the stalls serve as main thoroughfares during the weekdays. On Friday and Saturday nights, the night café and market is lined with stalls where people can shop, eat, and listen to live music.
Flores Ave. cor. E. J. Blanco Drive in Dumaguete City is an area where one can find good food, good music, and a view of the sea. This area is where Hayahay Tree House Bar and View Deck and El Camino Bar can be found.
