1. DO post your best solo pictures.

Because first impressions still last.

2. But DON’T share too much—whether a personal information or a revealing photo.

You have better chances of matching with someone cool and decent by keeping things simple.

3. DO come up with a witty, intriguing bio.

...and spell check!

4. DO plan your opening line.

No one responds to plain, boring hellos anymore. And don’t even get us started on cheesy pick-up lines.

5. DON’T sound too desperate, or awkward.

Just take things easy and relax.

6. If you’re going to meet someone, DO agree to meet in a public place.

This is basic.

7. During a first date, DON’T BE TOO COMFORTABLE.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

8. DON’T expect too much.

It can be tough to find real love online. Trust your instincts but always be cautious.

9. Meanwhile, if you don’t really like someone, quit playing games and DON’T waste their time.

10. DO wait. Be patient.

It might take a hundred dates before you find someone you really like. Well, maybe not a hundred. But you get the point.

11. DON’T swipe right for the sake of swiping right.

More than anything, online dating apps should never lower your standards.

12. And DO expand your options by traveling.

Are you in a new city, province, or country? Try your luck by turning on your dating app there!
