Restaurants in Cebu to Check Out

Restaurants in Cebu - Casa Verde

Whether you are in Cebu for the many beautiful beaches or for their world famous Sinulog Festival, no visit to the province is complete without discovering its culinary gems. Cebu is best known for its dried mangoes and danggit, but there are tons of other scrumptious discoveries that the capital of Visayas is known for. Here are five restaurants in Cebu where you will taste the flavors of the “Queen City of the South.”

1. Sunburst Chicken
Everyone has their favorite fried chicken, whether it’s from KFC, Jollibee, Max’s, or your mom’s classic recipe. But if you are in Cebu, try Sunburst Chicken and it could change your mind completely. Their chicken is crispy on the outside and savory on the inside without being too dry or too salty. It’s also incredibly cheap: you can get three fried chicken thighs for only PHP 203.00, including sidings of coleslaw, fries, and rice.

2. Casa Verde
Though Casa Verde has already expanded to Manila, some say the taste is different from the original branch in Cebu. Casa Verde is known for its meat dishes, and if you order their Brian’s Ribs, you will not regret it. For under PHP 300.00, you get a huge serving of baby back ribs that comes with corn and carrots, and rice. The meat is tender—easily falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. It’s juicy and you won’t believe you got such a scrumptious serving of ribs at an incredibly low price. And if you're up for a challenge, try their 12-inch burger called the Mighty Ton with your friends.

3. La Vie Parisienne
Like Casa Verde, La Vie Parisienne already has branches in Manila but the one in Cebu really breathes out the Parisian ambiance. At night, the back of the restaurant is lit with pinkish lights from the trees that brings a relaxing feel to your wine night with friends. Try out their selection of cheeses and wine at affordable costs as well as their famous macaroons.

4. Larsian Barbecue

Looking for authentic Cebuano barbeque at ungodly hours? With over 30 stalls and round-the-clock schedule, Larsian Barbecue offers a variety of grilled goodies from chicken and innards to seafood like stuffed fish and shrimp. For at least five people, you can easily just spend PHP 100.00 each and be full for the rest of the day (or night).

5. CnT Lechon
For authentic Cebu lechon, there is no other place to go but CnT Lechon. From the crispy skin all the way down to the tender meat, CnT Lechon is flavorful and sinful (in a good way), just like how you want your roasted pig to be. One kilo of CnT’s lechon is around PHP 400.00 and can feed from five to six persons. It is best eaten with your bare hands and with soy sauce, vinegar, and a bit of chili to really bring out the flavor that we all crave for.
