Hotel Dominique, as it describes itself, is a “gateway to a relaxing Tagaytay getaway.” It has a homey atmosphere perfect for family and friends who want to enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Located just along Aguinaldo Highway, Hotel Dominique provides easy access to Tagaytay’s cafés, restaurants, and famous tourist destinations such as People’s Park in the Sky and Picnic Grove. Its picturesque facade stands out among the new hotels in the area. But there’s more to its appearance than meets the eye, and it took our team a staycation to see all of them.

A simple but warm welcome
A family-owned hotel that opened in 2003, Hotel Dominique was built with classic architecture but emits a welcoming and modern vibe. When you see it up close, you’d feel as if you’re in a modern subdivision because of what appears to be numerous little houses behind the main entrance.

It was during the last holiday season when we went to Hotel Dominique. When we arrived, the main entrance was adorned with an assortment of charming Christmas decors.

Say hello to Mr. Snowman and his two nutcracker soldiers.

The front desk officers greeted and ushered us upon entering the hotel. It was still a few hours before the standard 2pm check-in time, so we left our luggage at the front desk before heading out for some sightseeing. Aside from safekeeping your luggage while you wait, Hotel Dominique also entertains early check-in for guests.

Welcome to the beautiful neighborhood
When you get to Hotel Dominique’s main area, you’ll enjoy a wonderful view of the guestrooms or casitas that have been lined up next to each other to form a small and lovely neighborhood. We had a fun time walking to our accommodation while admiring the attractive casitas left and right.

Feel at home in their cozy rooms
Hotel Dominique features different room types suitable for any guest: from Deluxe and Superior rooms in the main building perfect for couples to Cabanas and Casitas great for families or groups of friends. Each is designed with vintage furnishings and wooden accents to make it look like a modern Filipino home.

Our group of eight stayed at one of the Casitas—a two-floor structure with an attic, a balcony, and its own garage. Like the hotel’s other accommodations, the Casitas has air-conditioning, toilet and bath with hot and cold shower, Wi-Fi internet connection, telephone, cable television, and toiletries. Bigger rooms feature additional amenities such as a dining area and a microwave oven.

With comfortable beds and a relaxing vibe, we spent most of our time inside the room just hanging out. Who would want to go out if you can experience and bask in serenity inside a comfortable and elegant room?

Look forward to some exquisite dining
If there was one thing that forced us out of the room, it will have to be hunger. Thankfully, Hotel Dominique’s in-house restaurant serves just what we were craving for that day: delectable Filipino dishes.

Aside from their sumptuous meals, they have a bar too!

Each dish that came of the kitchen was absolutely delicious: from the fresh seafood to huge cuts of meat, we were spoiled with their impressive offerings. Their bestsellers such as the classic Laing and Crispy Liempo got everyone’s vote, but my favorite will have to be the Halo-Halong Lamang Dagat, which consists of various types of seafood sautéed in a special sauce. As for dessert, a platter full of fresh fruits from Mahogany Market was the sweet ending to a satisfying meal.

Have fun at the pool and game room
Located just outside the in-house restaurant, a pool is open for use from 8am to 10pm. There is also a kiddie pool for those who will be coming over with their children. Don’t fret about the cold weather because the water is surprisingly warm, especially in the morning.

Aside from the pool, guests can also enjoy a game of billiards over drinks at Hotel Dominique’s game room. There are, of course, numerous establishments around Tagaytay where you can hang out and spend your night out, but trying out the hotel’s game room won’t be too bad either.

Fully equipped function rooms for meetings and other occasions
The hotel has function rooms complete with modern equipment, making it an ideal venue of choice for corporate meetings or business seminars. There are also banquet rooms for special gatherings such as weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations. It is the perfect venue if you want to hold an event in Tagaytay.
