Located north of the Calamian Group in Palawan, Coron and Busuanga are two destinations that shouldn't be missed by adventurers and beach bums visiting the Philippines. Busuanga is the largest island in the Calamian Group. Half of it is made up of the municipality of Coron which stretches all the way to Coron Island, the third largest island in Calamian. While the names and the borders of these places can be a bit confusing, tourists will certainly discover a beautiful tropical paradise, regardless of where they end up.

The town of Coron is a first class municipality with a booming tourism industry. Only 20 minutes away from the town proper by boat is Coron Island, which has been blessed with marvelous natural treasures. Visitors to Coron Island will have so many things to do and explore: it has limestone cliffs, caves, and impressive bodies of water. Lake Kayangan is a hidden, gorgeous lake surrounded by rocky mountains. The clear waters are ideal for swimming and snorkeling while the surrounding caves provide a stunning view of the entire lake.

Busuanga has its share of beautiful white sand beaches, dive sites, and other tropical wonders as well but it boasts a different kind of attraction—a safari park. The Calauit Safari Park is a vast wildlife sanctuary at around 3800 hectares. It was established in the 1970s by former President Ferdinand Marcos. The park has numerous animals from Africa like giraffes, antelopes, and zebras. There are also crocodiles, monkeys, deers, wild boars, and porcupines.
