About Cafe Lupe Hostel Antipolo

Café Lupe Restaurant was established in 2003 by Mr. Alvin M. Carranza.  Being a devotee of Our Lady of Guadalupe inspired him to create a Mexican themed restaurant under the patroness’ name.  The first Café Lupe Restaurant was housed beneath the biggest billboard structure in the Philippines, aptly located along Guadalupe Bridge and within Guadalupe Seminary.  The menu consists of a fusion of Mexican and Filipino foods, ranging from Tacos and Quesadillas to Crispy Pata and Kare-Kare.  Part of its Filipino selection is Ilonggo cuisine such as Kadyos and Inasal.  The industrial structure of the restaurant juxtaposed against the authentic Mexican art pieces created a merging of the old and new, an interesting point of conversation for its diners.

"Good enough with a lot of areas for improvement that would have made it great"

The room as very nice, the view was good the equipment inside the bathroom was good to be had. an Area for improvement is service: 1.) No room service in the wee hours, we are still up at around 2am with no more water and I went down to see everything closed already, so we slept feeling thirsty 2.) Proactive inquiry of what we needed would have made it a great experience, since we booked a room it would have been nice if we were offered a reserved table at the restaurant. 3.) There were a lot of new staff at the restaurant that required a great deal of customer service training ( i asked for sauce for the baby back ribs, it never came and the starters we ordered was served with the main course) 4.) value for money on food is not that felt, lumps in the mushroom soup was significant, my 14 year old son can prepare mushroom soup better than they can, orange juice is tang, and what they claim as brewed coffee tasted like Nescafe. But again, the place was great, there were members of the staff that did their best and the food was ok. good experience in general, would have been a great one though. :)
