Plan Overview

Puerto Princesa's Underground River is truly a wonder to behold. Spanning more than eight kilometers long, it is regarded as the longest navigable underground river in the world. It is part of the larger Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a protected area which is also home to a magnificent sophisticated cave system that is teeming with spectacular limestone and karst formations as well as a rich and diverse forest formation filled with a variety of flora and fauna. Such is its natural beauty that it has been creating waves on the international tourism radar. In 1999, the park was hailed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Meanwhile, in 2011, the underground river was named as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, making it the pride of—not only Puerto Princesa—but also the entire Philippines.
